* This photograph was taken in front of the El Camino Real in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. KCK is a mystery to me. I don’t know the landscape well, so I’m constantly looking around when I’m behind the wheel. The warm winter is keeping me productive.

* Neighborhood exploring as usual. Last day of the year was exceptionally warm and good.

Keats, Kansas 2011
* I spent my christmas afternoon exploring the outskirts of Keats with Joe Johnson. He is a really great photographer and overall great person. After looking at photographs of Manhattan in his “Local Weather” series, I had to get in touch with him and share some beers/ideas/thoughts. Photographing my home town has always been a challenge for me. When you live somewhere for so long, you often forget how to look at it. Mentally, it is hard to overcome the preconceived ideas/images that have been molded into our minds. Telling your brain to look at something in a different light is so hard to do. After looking at Joe’s photographs of Manhattan, a new light was shed on how I viewed my home town.

Hong Kong 2005
* It was my first summer out of high school and everything felt good. Pippy let me borrow a camera from the high school and let me take it overseas. I still can’t believe she let me do that. I remember having around 5 rolls of Ilford Delta 400, 2 rolls of Ilford Delta 3200 and a few rolls of hand rolled Kodak TMAX400. I scanned these from the prints.
